Licensed Clinical Psychologist | Clinical Director, Saint Paul Psychotherapy

I am a licensed clinical psychologist and the Clinical Director of Saint Paul Psychotherapy. My clinical work is grounded in relational psychoanalysis and other approaches that understand therapy as more than a place to talk about problems. I view therapy as an opportunity to participate in a healing relational experience—one that can help people develop deeper insight into themselves, their patterns of coping, and the ways they relate to others.

For me, developing self-understanding is just as important as working toward greater freedom and authenticity in relationships. Therapy often asks us to face pain, disappointment, fear, and old protective patterns. At the same time, I have found that therapy can also be surprising, meaningful, and even joyful. There can be real vitality in discovering new ways of knowing yourself and being with others.

I bring compassion, training, experience, and dedication to my work. In return, I invite you to take chances: to try something different even when it feels uncomfortable, to let yourself be known at a pace that feels possible, and to remain curious even when curiosity reveals difficult truths. My goal is to help develop a therapeutic relationship in which healing and discovery become possible, allowing for greater vitality, and flexibility.

Having been born and raised in St. Paul, I feel deeply connected to the community that has given so much to me. I have had the privilege of working with people across the metro area in many settings, including crisis counseling, veterans’ residential rehabilitation, inpatient substance use treatment, traumatic brain injury rehabilitation, and university counseling.

Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy playing music with others, watching my birdbath—especially when there are birds in it—and gardening. I often find that a brief conversation can be helpful in determining whether therapy together might be a good fit, so please feel free to reach out if that would be useful.
