Brooke Fanning
Psychotherapist
I believe therapy can be a journey of self-discovery. We often move through life making decisions, navigating relationships, and responding to challenges without fully understanding what is happening within us. Our experiences, relationships, and early ways of making sense of the world can shape how we see ourselves and others, as well as the patterns we carry into our relationships today.
My approach to therapy is relational and psychodynamic, grounded in curiosity, compassion, and the belief that our relationships can offer important insight into our inner worlds. I strive to create a space where clients feel safe to slow down, explore their experiences, and develop a deeper understanding of their thoughts, emotions, needs, and ways of relating to others. Together, we can become curious about patterns that may be contributing to pain, disconnection, or dissatisfaction, including patterns that may not always be fully conscious.
My hope is to walk alongside clients as they develop a deeper understanding of themselves, build more meaningful relationships, and discover new ways of navigating the complexities of life. I see therapy not as a process of telling clients who they should be, but as a collaborative exploration of who they are and who they want to become.
In my free time, you'll often find me biking along the city's trails and enjoying the lakes year-round; swimming in the summer and cold dipping in the winter.
I am currently completing a Master's in Counseling and Psychological Services at St. Mary's University of Minnesota and practice under the supervision of Dr. Alexa Fetzer and Dr. Oliver Ross.
