SAINT PAUL
PSYCHOTHERAPY

Justin Julson
Psychotherapist, MA, LPCC
I offer a collaborative and compassionate approach to therapy that honors each person’s unique story, identity, and lived experience. Together, we’ll explore your challenges with curiosity and care, creating a space where you can better understand what may be getting in the way of living more authentically and fully.

My work goes beyond symptom relief to gently uncover and address the root of our distress for lasting change. I support clients in attending to and processing emotional pain, breaking free from stuck patterns, and building confidence in navigating life’s complexities. Through this process, we work toward resolving shame, healing from early developmental adversity, and cultivating a deeper sense of inner peace and connection to your true self. My work often includes supporting clients in unpacking the impact of social pressures and unconscious emotional behavioral patterns that might have been adaptive previously but no longer serve you today.

My therapeutic approach integrates evidence-based psychodynamic, emotionally focused, somatic, attachment-based, mindfulness, and anti-oppressive frameworks. I work with individuals navigating relational trauma, shame, self-esteem concerns, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, existential questions, and attachment-related challenges.

Originally from western Wisconsin, I’ve called Saint Paul home since 2012. My professional background includes work in outpatient substance use treatment, medically assisted treatment (MAT), case management, and outpatient mental health settings, which informs a holistic and grounded perspective in my practice.

Outside of my work, I enjoy spending time with family, exploring the outdoors, reading, and starting my mornings quietly with a hot cup of coffee.
